Bribery and Corruption at Work
Bribery and corruption can seriously damage organisations, undermine trust and lead to significant legal consequences. Organisations are expected to conduct business fairly, transparently and with integrity, and employees play an important role in ensuring that decisions are made ethically.
Bribery occurs when something of value is offered, promised, given or accepted in order to influence a decision or gain an unfair advantage. Corruption involves the misuse of authority or position for personal benefit. These situations can arise in everyday workplace interactions, particularly when dealing with suppliers, contractors or business partners.
This course helps employees understand what bribery and corruption mean, recognise situations where risks may arise, and respond appropriately when concerns occur. It explores common areas of risk such as gifts, hospitality and conflicts of interest, and explains how employees can ensure their actions remain transparent and compliant with organisational policies and legal requirements.
By increasing awareness of bribery risks and ethical decision-making, employees can help protect both themselves and their organisation.
