Sexual harassment is one of the most serious workplace risks organisations must prevent. When inappropriate behaviour is ignored or poorly managed, it can cause significant harm to employees and expose organisations to legal, reputational and cultural damage.

Managers play a critical role in preventing sexual harassment. Their behaviour, leadership style and response to concerns directly influence workplace culture.

Under the Equality Act 2010, sexual harassment is unlawful. Organisations may also be held responsible for harassment carried out by employees if they cannot demonstrate they took reasonable steps to prevent it.

In addition, recent legislation such as the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act) Act 2023 places a stronger duty on employers to take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.

This course helps managers understand what sexual harassment looks like in real workplace situations, how to prevent inappropriate behaviour and how to respond professionally if concerns are raised.

By the end of the course, managers will understand their responsibilities and how to maintain safe and respectful working environments.

This course includes
  • • Understand what sexual harassment is and how it occurs
    • Recognise behaviours that create hostile working environments
    • Understand employer and manager legal responsibilities
    • Learn how to respond appropriately when concerns are raised
    • Prevent problems through proactive leadership and workplace culture
